Each event can be counted only once. In other words, if a person volunteered one hour at a tournament and that one hour consisted of rating one person, 2 points could not be claimed (one for rating and one for being there as a volunteer).

Each returning IWLUB member is required to attain 4 service credits each calendar year.

First year umpires are required to attain 2 service credits, one of which may be from attending an officiating clinic before being rated for the first time. District and National rated umpires should refer to Section Ten of the Umpire Manual for region service requirements.

A few other points about Service:

Service is accumulated continuously throughout the calendar year.

-The vast majority of the work done by the board is volunteer work.

Having everybody volunteer is the only way we can survive.

-As a rule, paid assignments are not eligible to count as service credits.
