Most of the work you do as an official will take place between March and May. You can work as few or as many assignments as you like, though a minimum of 4 games per month is preferred. Some officials work more than 75 games during the season. Assignments are typically double-headers during the week and on Saturdays. Sunday games are rare. You will submit an invoice for payment to the schools directly. Average pay for a double-header is between $104 and $111.

In addition to the spring high school season, there are also lots of opportunities to work in the off-season. Local club programs and US Lacrosse tournaments offer umpires the opportunities to keep developing their skill while earning some extra cash. See our calendar page to browse local events.
