Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the country and every year new high schools in Illinois form teams. Unfortunately recruiting of officials has not kept pace. -We need you!

New Arbiter Registration Process

IHSA is registering all officials through Arbiter this coming school year. You will need to register through the IHSA Arbiter registration link and complete all requirements on arbiter to officiating this school year.

Costs

  • Clinic free for IWLUB members, $25 for non-members      
  • IHSA Membership $70
  • Uniform $60-$100 (Ref shirt, black running shoes/clothes, whistle, cards, flag)
  • US Lacrosse Membership $50  (optional but recommended)

Benefits

  • $86 per high school varsity game, $74 for HS lower level (2026 rates) 
  • Ref as much or as little as you like (see "Officiate high school season," above)
  • Some refs work 10 games during the season, some work 70+ It's up to you!
  •  You won't need to go to the gym for 3 months out of the year, in a typical double-header you'll cover about 5 miles while running walking and sprinting
  • Meet new friends
  • If you're like most of us, you've benefited from organized sports at some point in your life. This is a great way to give back.
